White Goods

What We Do

White Goods

Imagine moving into your new tenancy, only to realise that you don't have a cooker to make your dinner, there is no washing machine to have clean clothes, and no fridge to store your food. This concept is all too real for those who finally get access to permanent accommodation after a period of homelessness.

Fresh Start's White Goods service helps those in need by coordinating the purchase, delivery and installation of essential household items, such as cookers, washing machines and fridge/freezers. This service is supported by our annual Cookers for Christmas Appeal, we also apply to a number of different grants and funding streams on client's behalf.

To access this service, people need to be referred by either a housing officer, social worker, support worker, GP, Citizen's advice, or any agency or organisation that they may be working with for support. The referral form can be viewed and downloaded here.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept donations of second hand white goods.
