Imagine moving into your new tenancy, only to realise that you don't have a cooker to make your dinner, there is no washing machine to have clean clothes, and no fridge to store your food. This concept is all too real for those who finally get access to permanent accommodation after a period of homelessness.
Fresh Start's White Goods service helps those in need by coordinating the purchase, delivery and installation of essential household items, such as cookers, washing machines and fridge/freezers. This service is supported by our annual Cookers for Christmas Appeal, we also apply to a number of different grants and funding streams on client's behalf.
Applications can be made all year round and we accept self-referrals or referrals from support organisations or housing officers for this service. To be eligible for this service, an application must have been made to and rejected by the Scottish Welfare Fund.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept donations of second hand white goods.
