Fresh Start is constantly looking for volunteers to help us deliver our services and run the company.  Dedicated Volunteer Co-ordinators ensure that our volunteers receive appropriate training and support that allows them to have an enjoyable and rewarding volunteering experience.

Starter Packs

Volunteers unpack donations of goods and put together Starter Packs that are distributed to new tenants who have been homeless.  Volunteers are based at our warehouse and typically give 1 – 2 hours of time at different periods throughout the working week.

We currently require volunteers to:
• Wash ‘mushroom boxes’ that are donated by supermarkets

• Unpack and sort donations of goods on either a Monday or Tuesday

• Help assemble the Starter Packs on a Wednesday

• Help with our team that prepare curtain packers particularly people who are able to  use a sewing machine

Hit Squads

Hit Squad volunteers work alongside new tenants who have been homeless to help them decorate their home.  The process ensures that tenants get off to a great start in their property, as well as developing new skills and confidence in social situations.

Each job typically lasts two days and is carried out during office hours Monday to Thursday.  No experience is necessary as full training is provided.

Pat Testing

Volunteers are required to carry out PAT testing on donated goods.  Based at the warehouse the work will take place during our normal hours.  Full training will be provided but availability is dependant upon budgets and the commitment prospective volunteers are able to give.
