Hit Squads
The Hit Squads is a unique and successful approach to helping people who have been homeless establish and maintain their tenancy.
The service aims to
* Provide practical support through providing assistance with painting & decorating.
* Ensure new tenants acquire practical skills that will enable them to maintain the tenancy.
* Provide an opportunity for tenants to interact with members of the community, so that they will feel more confident about resettling into the community.
The 'Hit Squads' are teams of volunteers who work alongside new tenants in their home, typically decorating up to two rooms in their home. Volunteers are fully trained and undergo enhanced disclosure as they are often required to work alongside vulnerable adults.
The service is available to new tenants in the first eight weeks of their tenancy; referrals come via recognised support agencies.
