What you can do
There are a number of ways in which you can become involved in the work of Fresh Start. Please read on to discover more about volunteering your time, donating goods or money, and supporting our services in other ways.
Time
Many of our services rely on volunteers who give of their spare time in support of our work. We always appreciate the commitment and value that volunteers bring to our work and we hold an Investing in Volunteers award in recognition of the training and support we provide to all our volunteers.
We are also interested to hear from volunteers who would like to offer us their own particular set of skills or experience in Public Relations, Marketing, Finance, Events Management, Computing, and Charity sector work.
If you would like more information about getting involved as a volunteer please click here or contact us directly using our contact form.
Goods
Our Starter Pack service provides a number of basic and essential household goods and cleaning materials, which go out to new tenants. By donating your spare or unwanted items you can help someone else in the setting up of their new home.
We ask that items are in a clean and useable state that you would be happy to use yourself.
A full list of the items we collect, along with our address and opening times is available by clicking here.
Money
Fresh Start (Edinburgh) is a registered Scottish Charity and relies on the financial support of both individuals and organisations to help fund our range of services.
