AGM The AGM and lunch will be held on Tuesday 7 October 2008 at 12:30pm. Invites will be issued shortly to church representatives, starter pack leaders and volunteers. FRESH START WALK
The first Fresh Start Walk on Friday 20 June proved to be a great success. The sun shone and the route was extremely picturesque. We had a great turnout of around 40 walkers who set off from Dean Parish Church at 10am. The route was around 8 miles long and took in the Water of Leith and Union Canal. It finished at the Lochrin Basin where we had a lovely lunch at Cargo. All agreed that it had been lots of fun and were keen for it to be repeated next year. Thank you to all the walkers, including dogs, and also to the sponsors of individual walkers and the office team, for making this a successful event. One of our walkers, Margaret Cormack, part of the Kirk o'Field team, managed to increase her sponsorship money by approaching her employers, The Royal Bank of Scotland. They have a Community Cashback Award scheme which recognises employees who give up their time for a good cause. In this instance, they contributed £250 to Margaret's sponsorship fund. BEFRIENDING VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED Volunteers are required for our befriending service. If you are interested and feel you could commit to a couple of hours a week, please give Linda Gibson a call on 0131 476 4518 or email linda.gibson@freshstartweb.org.uk.
