Cooking Class Recipe - Quorn Bolognese


Ingredients:





  • 2 tablespoons olive oil - 7p




  • 350g minced Quorn - £2.00




  • 2 garlic cloves - 3p




  • 2x 397g tins tomatoes - 68p




  • 4 tablespoons herbs- 10p




  • 1 level teaspoon grated lemon rind - 30p for the lemon




  • 1 teaspoon sugar - 2p




  • 2 tablespoons tomato puree - 10p




  • 375g spaghetti - 15p




Serves 4 - 86p per serving.


How to make:





  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan and stir-fry the Quorn and crushed garlic for 5 minutes.






  1. Add the tomatoes, half the herbs, lemon rind, sugar and tomato puree. Add a little salt and pepper.




  2. Bring to the boil, then turn down the heat and cover and simmer for 20 minutes.






  1. Remove the lid and simmer for a further 15 minutes.




  2. Stir in the remaining herbs.




  3. Cook the spaghetti in boiling water for 10 to 12 minutes and drain well.
