Cooking Class Recipe - Quorn Bolognese
2 tablespoons olive oil - 7p
350g minced Quorn - £2.00
2 garlic cloves - 3p
2x 397g tins tomatoes - 68p
4 tablespoons herbs- 10p
1 level teaspoon grated lemon rind - 30p for the lemon
1 teaspoon sugar - 2p
2 tablespoons tomato puree - 10p
375g spaghetti - 15p
Serves 4 - 86p per serving.
How to make:
Heat the oil in a saucepan and stir-fry the Quorn and crushed garlic for 5 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, half the herbs, lemon rind, sugar and tomato puree. Add a little salt and pepper.
Bring to the boil, then turn down the heat and cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove the lid and simmer for a further 15 minutes.
Stir in the remaining herbs.
Cook the spaghetti in boiling water for 10 to 12 minutes and drain well.
