Every year 4,000 families or individuals in the City lose their homes and face the nightmare of homelessness. They turn to Edinburgh City Council for help, making a homeless application and face a stay in temporary housing, with all the upheaval that involves, until a permanent home can be found.

Many of them are vulnerable, isolated and in need of support on many different levels. Once they are housed, it is vital they can get the right support they need to keep and maintain their tenancy.

To help them achive this, Fresh Start’s work is focussed on three distinct areas of work.

•                  Provision of goods

•                  Practical & social support

•                  Training & employability via social enterprises

At Fresh Start we endeavour to help those in need to get back onto their feet.
